What You Can Expect
Responsibilities are to plan, design and conduct research and/or process improvement projects pertaining to microbiological control and sterilization of Zimmer Biomet orthopedic implant products.
How You'll Create Impact Protocol preparation, data analysis and preparation of final reports.Plan, coordinate and conduct quality assurance activities such as, sterilization shipment review, vendor sterilization certification review and vendor auditing to support, evaluate and document the sterilization of Zimmer Biomet products.Assist the management of the Microbiological Services and Environmental Services Laboratories in the supervision of routine and experimental testing activities.Prepare and conduct training sessions for Microbiology Lab Technicians and manufacturing clean room personnel when necessary.This is not an exhaustive list of duties or functions and might not necessarily comprise all of the essential functions for purposes of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
What Makes You Stand Out Possess sound understanding of industrial guidelines and accepted methods of sterilization.Strong oral and written communications skills are required.Must be willing to work in a clean room environment wearing clean room garments handling, preparing and disposing of caustic chemicals and other biohazardous waste.Strong working knowledge of current QSR, ISO and AAMI Standards and guidelines pertaining to industrial sterilization and microbiological control is required.Your Background Bachelor of Science in Microbiology or Biology (Master’s Degree is preferred) Minimum of five years work experience as an industrial Microbiologist, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Other degree programs with microbiology course work may be considered if candidates also possess five to seven years of relevant industrial microbiology and/or sterility assurance work experience.
