Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc... allowed, No eye contacts allowed; prescriptive glasses will be provided, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.), Standing for full shift, Will work with hazardous/toxic materials

Sr Operator, Manufacturing

 

Join our team as a Sr Operator, Manufacturing at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. in Middletown, VA. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our mission of enabling our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. You will play a key role in manufacturing in vitro diagnostic reagents, controls, and calibrators, which are used in conjunction with clinical diagnostic instrumentation.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Drive continued efficiency improvements through the effective use of metrics, 5S, and the PPI processRecommend and implement changes in manufacturing procedures to improve product quality and production efficiencyEnsure that the schedule provided by the supervisor is followedSet up Work Centers in a timely and organized manner, tearing down the Work Center when the Work Order is completeEnsure others perform tasks with a high degree of care and attentionEnsure team members follow work instructions, procedures, drawings, and customer specificationsDirect production for manufacturing jobs to provide on-time delivery for customersEnsure all daily inspections are completed and train employees when necessary for 100% adherenceDrive safety and housekeepingComplete vital production paperwork and documentationIdentify safety hazards, unsafe conditions, and/or unsafe acts through safety audits and initiatives, and recommend corrective actionsAssist with leading, training, and development of associates

 

Requirements:

 

High School Diploma / GED or equivalentMinimum of two years of experience in manufacturingProven track record to multi-task, prioritize, plan, and forecast multiple projects at one timeAbility to work in a team environment and influence others to achieve resultsSelf-motivated with a bias for actionOutstanding follow-up and organizational skillsDemonstrate the Thermo Fisher values (The Four I’s) – Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement
