Under the direction of the Group Leader, Raleigh, NC Sites, the SR Ops Process Leader is responsible for leading staff and ensuring all daily activities are complete, on time, and in full. This role will perform or assist in the performance of all duties involved in the manufacture of live vaccine seed antigens and the formulation/ filling of finished products. Typical hours are 8:00am - 4:30pm M-F, however, this position may require working weekends along with flexible shift hours when needed.
**Duties & Responsibilities**
+ Reporting to the Group Leader, receives minimal direction for routine functions and guided by production schedules, batch records, and controlled documents.
+ Position may require the incumbent to work flexible work hours to ensure standard business operations and to handle departmental emergency situations. This can include working extended hours on same day notice or weekend hours.
+ Executes experimental protocols assigned and approved by Group Leader, Raleigh Sites.
+ Supervises and organizes all day-to-day activities for the team and make sure all employees adhere to all procedures and policies.
+ Responsible for accurate and timely oracle batches/transactions/inventory reconciliation.
+ Responsible for performing, and/or assisting in the production of seed harvests as well as final product formulations and fills.
+ Maintains open communication between group leader and lab techs.
+ Ensures all problems or concerns are reported immediately and actions are taken to correct them.
+ Maintains open communication between other departments within industrial operations (QA, QC, RA, HSE, Sandhills, and Cobb).
+ Works independently to resolve any conflicts with team members and utilize problem solving abilities.
+ Assists group leader in conducting team members as needed.
+ Maintains and reviews accurate and timely manufacturing records which include all paperwork and files.
+ Completes all calculations required within the manufacturing record.
+ Performs duties in accordance with all federal, state, local and company regulations, SOPs and guidelines.
+ Prepares, maintains, and manages documentation. Including SOPs, Master files, and Guidelines.
+ Maintains a clean, neat and orderly work area.
+ Assists in maintaining the security of the facility.
+ Recognizes and understands the importance of Boehringer-Ingelheim standards and goals regarding Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) in area of responsibility and focuses behavior in a manner consistent with those standards and goals.
**Requirements**
+ High School Diploma.
+ Minimum of five-plus (5+) years’ experience in poultry husbandry, and/or live production.
**Preferred** :
+ Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Poultry Science or related field is highly desired or eight-plus (8+) years' experience in poultry husbandry, and/or live production.
+ Self-motivated, with the ability to think logically and consider upcoming events into current work plan.
+ Ability to work well under pressure along with strong mathematical skills.
+ Prior experience working in a poultry processing and/or manufacturing environment is preferred.
+ Ability to lift 50 pounds and carry it at least 10-40 feet.
+ Ability to squat, bend, and stoop, as well as twisting and turning.
+ Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time.
+ This position may require working weekends along with flexible shift hours.
+ Regular attendance is required to assure continuance of operations and care of animals.
+ Manual dexterity and visual acuity are important.
+ Attention to detail and ability to document work perform.
+ Ability to read and understand SOP’s and guidelines and ensure adherence to them.
+ Experience in Microsoft office.
+ Ability to enhance performance of diverse staff.
+ Ability to multi-task and budget time wisely.
+ Ability to drive a non CDL <26,000 truck. Must have a clean MVR.
+ Intermediate people skills.
+ Must be flexible and a good problem solver.
**Desired Skills, Experience and Abilities**
**Additional Duties & Responsibilities** :
+ Able to operate and train other employees on all tasks necessary to perform required job functions and ensures biosecurity practices are maintained at the site.
+ Ensures that self and all site personnel and/or visitors follow approved strict biosecurity practices to protect vaccine.
+ Multiple head-to-toe, full body (hair included) showers DAILY are required.
+ Performs, as assigned, miscellaneous incidental duties and temporary jobs at Gainesville manufacturing sites as needed.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
+ ** May not own or have contact with other birds or poultry **
+ Avian Biosecurity Policy: It is the responsibility of all Merial Select, Inc. employees to take necessary steps to avoid contact with the avian species in general. This includes, but is not limited to, commercial poultry, yard chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, wild birds and pet birds.
+ Should contact occur, precautions must be taken prior to entering a critical building or location: Anyone encountering the avian species should not enter a critical building or location for 72 hours unless they have showered, changed clothes and shoes.
**Eligibility Requirements** :
+ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
+ Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
+ Must be 18 years of age or older.
