Sr Payroll Analyst

Job Summary  

Perform a variety of payroll and associated accounting functions in preparation, distribution, and reporting of payroll, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. Balance weekly payroll ledger, research exception items, and take corrective action. Research and resolve payroll/tax reporting issues. Work closely with technical departments to implement process improvements, test system changes, and support special projects within the payroll department. Serve as the Company’s “Go-To” person for all payroll matters.

 

Job Responsibilities

Create, process and deliver the organization's payroll Maintain a corporate payroll accuracy of no less than 99.8%.  Create and maintain payroll records (i.e. W-4 information, 401(k), Direct Deposit, etc…).   Process weekly and biweekly payrolls, including Executive pay. Support and maintain payroll platforms including first level troubleshooting. Payroll reporting for internal and external stakeholders​. Assist in the development of payroll education including video training, web & print​. Coordinate w/Comp & Benefits regarding benefit matters. Maintain annual US payroll calendar. Partner with HR and benefits to ensure accurate and timely processing of new hires, temporary workers, transfers, promotions and terminations. Execute garnishments, resolve payroll tax matters, direct deposit issues, payroll requests. Maintain and utilize the company’s Payroll system (ADP Workforce Now®!), Time and Attendance (UKG Dimensions; Time, Attendance and Accrual modules) and HRIS (Oracle HCM).  Projects - perform testing and support implementation of upgrades to the previously listed software packages. Liaise with the company’s 401(k) record-keeper. Perform the upload of the weekly payroll information into the Oracle Finance Module. Reconcile import of the weekly payroll to ensure accuracy. Review payroll integration files to ensure accuracy for import into ADP. Prepare, review, and execute test plans to ensure that modifications, and updates to systems are thoroughly tested prior to implementation Recommend system changes for improved workflow, compliance, and/or increased functionality. Support payroll interplay with the annual financial and 401(k) audits. Process year-end payroll adjustments  Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience. 3+ years’ experience processing high volume payroll; preferred 5+ years In depth experience and technical knowledge with ADP Workforce Now & Kronos/UKG Timekeeper and Attendance Manager modules. Experience with a major HRIS. Oracle HRIS module a plus. Must be detail-oriented. Excellent attendance and reliability a must. Ability to work beyond the normal workday as needed. Ability to maintain, with unwavering confidence, sensitive and protected information. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel including Vlookup  Strong written and oral communication skills. Certification a plus CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification).
