We are seeking a Sr Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join our team in the Dallas, TX area. This role offers the flexibility of working remotely from your home office. In this role, you will provide comprehensive payroll operations and benefits administration for our California workforce, ensuring precision, compliance, and operational excellence across multiple platforms. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of our compensation and benefits systems while providing strategic guidance on payroll and benefits policy compliance.

The Role

Administer end-to-end payroll processing via Paylocity, ADP, and proprietary systemsManage complex compensation structures including piece work calculations and prevailing wage requirementsProcess bi-weekly and special payrolls while maintaining strict deadlines and accuracy standardsMaintain thorough knowledge of California-specific requirements including meal breaks, rest periods, and overtime calculationsCalculate retroactive payments and adjustments as neededServe as primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries from employees and managementProvide guidance on payroll policies and procedures to staff and department headsPartner with HR team on compensation-related projects and initiativesParticipate in the full-cycle benefits administration including open enrollment, new hire enrollment, and qualifying life eventsProcess benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations in HRIS systemsReconcile monthly carrier invoices and resolve discrepanciesConduct benefits orientation sessions for new employeesServe as a primary point of contact for employee benefits inquiriesConduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and complianceMaintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll and benefit informationGenerate various payroll and benefit reports Requirements 5+ years payroll and benefits administration experience required, 3+ years processing California payrollCPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification a plusBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or equivalent a plusExperience with California wage legislation and benefits complianceAdvanced Excel skillsStrong project management skillsExcellence in written and verbal communicationAbility to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretionExperience with HRIS systems and time/attendance platformsExcellent problem-solving and communication skillsOccasional travel to other office locations may be required (10-25% annually)Valid driver’s licensePassing of all pre-employment requirements (MVR, Background Check, Drug Screen)
