The Sr Principal Chemical Engineer will perform engineering work related to the operation of chemical plant equipment and processes. Preferred wide application of advanced principles, theories, and concepts in the propulsion field with a working knowledge of related disciplines such as thermal, structural, and ballistics analysis. Broad knowledge and experience with energetics, solid propellants and related materials, products. Substantial experience with physics-based modeling of related technologies such as polymer mechanics, environmental degradation and aging, combustion, detonation, particle packing, rheology. Substantial experience in one of the following preferred:
Propellant/explosive formulation for product development, scale-up and manufacturingEnergetic material manufacturing and synthesisEnergetics material hazards analysis, testing and mitigation strategy development.Case bondline development, processing, and adhesion sciencePhysical testing and characterization of propellant and subsystemsMajor Position Responsibilities Conducts research and development projects involving the study of chemical reactions and material properties to innovate and develop new products or optimize existing products. Designs experiments and builds prototypes and models used to investigate and support the development of improved chemicals, materials, products, and manufacturing processes. Compiles and analyzes testing data. Presents research results used to estimate costs, establish performance standards, identify solutions, and facilitate processes. Maintains lab and plant safety procedures for chemical storage, handling, transport, and disposal. Complies with all safety and environmental regulations.

Pay Range (USD) $116,550- $216,450 Additional Compensation - ICP Hired applicant will be eligible to participate in the Company’s Incentive Compensation Program. Employees are also able to enroll in the company's 401k plan and are eligible for the Non-Contributory Retirement Contribution.
