Sr Principal Cloud Architect

THE TEAM AND ROLE

Zuora’s Global Cloud Services teams are responsible for Cloud infrastructures, monitoring performance and uptime, managing internal and external shared services, infrastructure services and more - for Zuora’s customer facing SaaS products and platforms. Our technologists sit across USA, Costa Rica, China, India and remotely, using a follow-the-sun model to provide 24x7x365 coverage for critical functions and partner closely with our Engineering, Customer Support, Security, Global Services and Sales teams on a daily basis to keep our customers front and center.

The Cloud Architect is a critical technical leadership role to build the most resilient, scalable, performant, and efficient SaaS billing infrastructure on the planet. This role will own the cloud infrastructure architecture to support the billing, revenue, and payment operations of some of the world’s largest global companies. The Architect will partner closely with our product and platform teams to leverage the latest in cloud-native technologies while in order to exceed our customer expectations. This is an incredible opportunity to push yourself technically while demonstrating your ability to provide leadership across a large cross functional organization.

This role can be remote from anywhere in the US. You’ll be working remotely while occasionally getting together with your team for office visits, events, or offsites. Of course, you’re welcome to come into the office more often if you’re nearby.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Architectural Leadership: Technical leadership of cross functional teams of platform, application, and cloud engineers in the design and delivery of integrated end to end solutions. Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the team. Cloud Architecture Design: Lead the design and implementation of resilient, scalable, performant, secure, and cost-effective cloud architectures  Cloud Strategy & Roadmap: Collaborate with cross functional stakeholders to define the cloud strategy and roadmap, aligning with business goals and objectives.  Security & Compliance: Ensure cloud architectures adhere to security best practices and compliance requirements.  Cloud Optimization: Analyze and optimize existing cloud infrastructure for performance, reliability, scale, and cost-efficiency. Implement monitoring, alerting, and auto-remediation strategies. Cloud Automation: Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools for cloud resource provisioning, management, and monitoring using tools like AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or Ansible.


YOUR EXPERIENCE

10+ years of designing and implementing applications, platforms, and systems in one or more cloud environments (AWS preferred)  You are highly skilled at building relationships with engineering teams and leading teams through architectural changes from inception to production implementation Strong technical skills including experience with modern SaaS based architectures Track record of designing and building resilient, performant, & scalable distributed systems You have deep experience with the core AWS offerings and wide experience with other AWS services Drive, with an ability to learn quickly and make independent decisions Tons of great ideas, the ability to bring them to life, and a love for solving hard problems Exceptional presentation, verbal and written communication skills Degree in Computer Science or a closely related field of study preferred Billing and/or ERP domain experience is desirable

The base pay details represent the annualized salary range for the posted position. While we share a comprehensive range, a candidate’s final base salary will fall within these guidelines and will be determined based on multiple factors including but not limited to: qualifications of the candidate, job related knowledge, prior related experience, specific and unique skills, the location of the role, internal equity and internal budget.
