Job Summary

The associate in this position will provide technical/analytical and functional support in the area of project cost controls, to include accounting creation, monitoring, forecasting and close out for the Enterprise IT Project Controls Group.  They must possess skills and expertise in the following areas: budget development, forecasting, spreadsheets, schedule monitoring work in progress, resource optimization.
Ensure system work is accomplished with optimal use of both internal and external resources within required timeframes as well as within budget and scope. Work with departmental managers and technical leads to develop workload forecasting using work management system data, historical data, economic indicators, and project schedules. Project management responsibilities include WBS development, Schedule development, project meetings, project schedule update meetings and course correction along with monthly schedule reporting.
Interact with vendors and PSEG Finance to ensure proper accounting is applied to invoices and unpaid invoices are accrued in accordance with PSEG Policies and Procedures.
Assist in project budget/forecast development; Contractor coordination; Project management assistance; Performance reporting; Project change management adherence; Risk and Contingency planning. Resource is billable 40% of there time to project controls function.

Job Responsibilities Candidate will perform monthly roll up reporting including peer review for consistency. Candidate will ensure assigned projects being executed will follow the Stage Gate process and meet the baseline schedule/cost review requirements; are executed with optimal use of resources within required timeframes, as well as within budget and scope.  Prepare monthly variance analysis, prepare and submit monthly accruals, develop project forecast, prepare PCR where necessary as well as any needed cost documentation.  Interact with vendors to ensure accurate and timely billing.     Observe/guide  project team members of the cost control team to evaluate processes adherence and quality for variance analysis, forecasting as well as a comprehensive cost workbook. Review contract controller work as well as assist in managing controller assignments. The candidate in this position will utilize their expertise to offer technical/analytical and functional support in the area of project controls configuration and reporting using department tools.  Create Job Aides for Controllers and PMO group. Participate in Long Term Portfolio Planning with LOB and other IT Departments regarding IT Projects. Manage and direct that activites of team members and contractors within the EPMO Organization. Required

BS in Engineering, Accounting, Finance, Construction, or Business discipline or in lieu of degree minimum fifteen years professional business, engineering or construction experience Minimum 10 years of experience with Project Controls concepts (project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling, or closeout) Minimum 10 years of experience with Project Cost Management (Budget development and tracking, creating forecasts, creating accruals, tracking vendors and variance reporting) Full proficiency and experience with Integrated Data Management Tools such as, MS Excel;  SharePoint experience with computer applications, including Primavera P6, and MS Office suite  (strong Microsoft Excel skills) Capable of delivering technical presentations to project stakeholders and management and communicating plans, ideas, and strategies to key stakeholders, including Company leadership Strong effective oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal and team-building skills     Must be a self-starter capable of seeking out project-related information from project stakeholders and possess leadership skills in order to train and develop others and stand in for Lead Project Controls Engineer, when required Must take personal accountability for actions and results; strive for personal and departmental continuous improvement; focus on measurement of results and demonstrate PSEG Values & Behavior
