The Senior Project Engineer – Injection Molding manages activities as they relate to manufacturing, assembly and facility support system projects at the 4 plastic component plants. The responsibilities include but are not limited to process, equipment, design, modification and maintenance improvements throughout the facilities.
Responsibilities Manage manufacturing and facility projects. This includes establishing deliverables, distribution of RFQ’s, planning, selection of resources, budget constraints, and on time completionLead internal and external technicians to improve the manufacturability of the plastic component processes and equipmentSupport maintenance and processing department personnel in the area of training and equipment engineering activitiesAnalyze performance problems to find and implement root cause solutionsMaintain documentation (files, revisions and edits). To include all drawings and database listingsCommunicate with site Engineering Managers on issues and suggestions as they relate to manufacturing and facility projectsLead efforts in continuous improvement to reduce set up time, reduce scrap, improve processing and overall increase in product yieldOwn the Project Management process including CERs, project timelines, Gate presentations, and Senior Leadership communicationSet and approve procedures and policies that relate to all plastic manufacturing locations QualificationsEducation, Experience, Certifications:
BS in Engineering required3 years related experienceProject management, maintenance management and programming of computer operated equipment is a plusCompetencies, Skills, Knowledge:
Understand the fundamentals of injection molding machines and the injection molding processDemonstrated experience in project management or at a minimum, project management certification.Strong analytical skills. Demonstrate ability to use root cause analysis methodologyProficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS OutlookProficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD and InventorStrong organizational skillsTravel, other requirements:
Travel Required as needed (50%)Ability to rent vehicles for company travel.
