The Senior Producer will be responsible for story development, assignments, coverage of breaking news, script editing and will serve as the broadcast liaison to domestic bureaus and network newsgathering managers. They will also work with all CBS News platforms in matters pertaining to the anchor’s stories, including CBS Mornings, 60 Minutes, CBS Saturday Morning, CBS Sunday Morning and CBS News Special Events.
Job Duties:Spearhead correspondent and anchor interviews with newsmakers and coverage of major stories.
Drive story development opportunities that meet broadcast objectives including breaking news, impactful investigations, innovative storytelling, and rich reporting. Manage editorial and production process from pitch, to planning, to execution and delivery in a multi-platform environment. Supervise day-of-air scripts and stories for the broadcast as needed. Lead editorial direction for fast-moving news segments when the anchor travels for breaking news, either from home base or in the field depending on the broadcast’s needs. Liaise with communications, marketing, affiliate, and digital teams to promote stories and reporting. Qualifications:Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in journalism is preferred
10+ years of journalism experience, at a broadcast network, cable or digital news company Exquisite writing and editorial skills Excellent journalistic judgment Able to work optimally and expertly in deadline driven environment Excellent command of legal and journalism standards process Ability to balance priorities, various projects and tasks Attention to detail and thoroughness Proven track record of team management with positive culture Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays; and travel on short notice as news warrants Must have a valid passport

Hiring Salary Range: $200,000.00 - 230,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
