The Anywhere UX group is a quickly growing and rapidly evolving team, positioned as a thought leader within the organization. We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Accessibility Designer to join our expanding accessibility team and revolutionize the way people interact with real estate technology. The Senior Accessibility Designer will play a pivotal part in advancing accessibility initiatives across our digital platforms, including web applications, mobile apps, and other user interfaces. Reporting to the Lead Accessibility Designer, your expertise and leadership will drive the creation of barrier-free digital experiences for our customers. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, UX designers, developers, and quality assurance team members to integrate inclusive design practices and deliver exceptional user experiences. Additionally, you will support company-wide accessibility efforts and assist the Lead Accessibility Designer in driving these initiatives forward.
Responsibilities
Lead Accessibility Initiatives: Champion accessibility and inclusivity as a core value, ensuring that our digital products comply with accessibility standards, guidelines, and best practices, including WCAG 2.2 and beyond. Adapt and champion new tools for the organization.
Accessibility Audits: Conduct comprehensive accessibility audits and usability testing on existing products to identify barriers and areas for improvement.
Design and Prototyping: Create accessible wireframes, prototypes, and design mockups that address the needs of users with disabilities and align with the company's branding and design systems.
Collaborative Design: Collaborate and consult with UX designers and developers to integrate accessibility features seamlessly into the design and development process, considering various assistive technologies.
User Research: Partner with user research to conduct interviews and usability testing to gather insights from users with diverse abilities and incorporate their feedback into the design process.
Training and Advocacy: Educate and mentor the design and development teams on accessibility best practices, fostering a culture of accessibility and empathy for all users. Facilitate office hours to provide guidance, ensure accessibility compliance, and obtain necessary approvals.
Compliance Reporting: Monitor and maintain accessibility compliance records and reports to ensure that our products meet industry standards and legal requirements.
Stay Updated on Industry Trends: Keep abreast of emerging accessibility standards, guidelines, and technologies to ensure our products remain cutting-edge and meet evolving user needs.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, User Experience Design, or a related field.
Proven experience (5+ years) as a UX designer with a focus on accessibility, preferably in a real estate or e-commerce domain.
Strong understanding of web and/or mobile accessibility guidelines, including WCAG and EAA, and experience applying these principles in real-world projects.
Proficient in design drafting, presentation, and documentation within design tools such as Figma.
Familiarity and proficiency with assistive technologies and their impact on user experiences.
Ability to conduct accessibility audits and usability testing. Accessibility user research experience is a plus.
Strong communication skills with a proven ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
A portfolio demonstrating your successful implementation of accessible designs and user-centered solutions.
