The Opportunity
This position is in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division, where we are focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions. We’re revolutionizing the way people monitor their glucose levels with our new sensing technology.
We are looking for an energetic and driven product manager to join our growing Product and Innovation group, which is responsible for software and hardware products and services that expand and enhance the capabilities of the FreeStyle Libre platform, the world’s #1 continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) solution.
This is a fully on-site role in our main Alameda, CA site OR you can choose to work from our Milpitas,
CA office as well.
What you’ll work on
Define and advance the strategy and roadmap for hardware and firmware products
Use insights to help identify new product opportunities
Identify and prioritize unmet user needs, and translate them into product requirements
Collaborate with product designers to define the complete user experience
Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineering teams to implement and test new features and/or products
Plan and execute design research and user testing
Train internal stakeholders on new features and/or products
Collaborate with product marketing to produce promotional and/or educational content
Provide on-market product support to Global Commercial Operations
Drive the use of advanced analytics to generate (1) deep insights about product utilization and (2) real-world outcomes data
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with 8 years' experience or MBA with at least 6 years of related experience
Experience building and shipping hardware products at scale
Strong understanding of industrial design, hardware design, embedded software, and manufacturing processes
Proven track record of launching successful hardware products, from concept to market
Experience working in highly cross-functional organizations
Preferred Qualifications
Strong presentation and communication skills, proactive and resourceful with a “can do” attitude
Innovative and able to think open, broadly and strategically
Strong analytical skills able to draw conclusions from data, management information and trends
Enjoys responding quickly and influencing people to deliver
Sound time management skills, ensuring that work is produced to agreed deadlines and high standards
Highly organized, focused and committed to achieving goals
Thrives under pressure with tight deadlines on several initiatives simultaneously
Understanding of delivering digital products in a regulated environment
Ability to lead/manage program budgets monthly, create and manage purchase orders and scope of work documents with procurement
Previous experience working in health, wellness, or wearable technology is a plus

The base pay for this position is $125,700.00 – $251,500.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
