Senior Project Engineer

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Engineer to lead and manage the execution of oil & gas projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in project management, engineering coordination, and execution of brownfield projects, pipelines, and downstream fuel distribution. This role requires strong leadership, technical proficiency, and the ability to drive project success while ensuring compliance with industry best practices and safety standards.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline from a recognized university. A higher degree (Master’s) is advantageous. Membership in a recognized engineering and/or project management association is a plus. Experience Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in engineering, project management, and execution of oil & gas projects. Proven expertise in managing and executing brownfield projects in the resource/petrochemical industry. Experience in pipeline projects, fuel distribution systems, and CNG stations is an advantage. Familiarity with dense-phase CO? pipelines and process equipment is desirable. Strong background in mature field development, including Water Alternating Gas (WAG) injection schemes. Extensive experience managing brownfield petrochemical refinery projects. Experience working independently as a client/owner’s representative, preferably with an International Oil Company (IOC). Proficiency in engineering coordination during feasibility studies, concept optimization, FEED, and EPIC stages. Skilled in project execution, including: Engineering Definition & Design Management Construction & Commissioning Oversight Project Execution Strategy & Risk Management Project Interface & Change Management (MOC) Schedule, Budget, and Cost Control Contract Management, Claims, and Variations HSE Risk Identification and Management Strong communication, team leadership, and report-writing skills. Key Responsibilities Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary project teams for onshore oil & gas projects, ensuring successful execution from start to completion. Develop and implement project plans, including execution strategies, risk management, assurance, quality, and HSE interface. Monitor and manage project planning, cost control, budgeting, contract administration, progress reporting, and change management. Oversee a multi-discipline engineering team, ensuring efficient resolution of technical and engineering challenges. Participate in tendering processes, including preparing bid packages, evaluating proposals, and making recommendations to tender committees. Maintain and update risk registers, ensuring risks are effectively managed and mitigated. Liaise with key stakeholders, including end users, government and statutory authorities, joint ventures (JVs), and third-party entities. Support the resolution of contractor claims, variations, and contract administration. Contribute to the review and development of company procedures and guidelines. Mentor and support the development of Qatari Engineers through structured training programs.
