Responsibilities About the role: The Sr. Project Manager is responsible for managing the project management lifecycle for the organization's most complex, cross-functional enterprise projects designed to support GM and GMF in making strides towards achieving our strategic priorities. These projects often require considerable resources and high levels of functional integration. This individual will partner with others across the enterprise to ensure consistent application of the GPPM (Global Project Portfolio Management) processes and procedures, and will contribute to EPMO (Enterprise Project Management Office) initiatives. What you'll be doing: Serves as a project manager for high-priority projects, applying the enterprise GPPM (Global Project Portfolio Management) processes and procedures Identifies and assembles the appropriate blend of resources to meet project needs and requirements Fosters and champions an environment that promotes trust, self-development, continuous improvement, innovation and quality outcomes Ensures a consistent level of quality, accuracy, compliance to GPPM standards, state and federal regulations, and internal controls Leads the development of project requirements and scope; establishes appropriate metrics for measuring successful delivery of the projects Engages with project teams, business partners and stakeholders frequently on the status of key initiatives with respect to scope, schedule, cost, and resources; presents RAID logs Coaches and counsels members of cross-functional teams to accomplish project goals, meet deadlines, and resolve technical/operational issues Administers the project change process when needed, formulating contingency plans to address schedule revisions, risks, costs, and scope Supports reporting needs of the PMO (Project Management Office) Maintains awareness of industry trends, practices, techniques and emerging technologies related to the project management discipline Captures and distributes meeting minutes highlighting decisions, action items, issues, risks, and key discussion topics as needed Qualifications What makes you a dream candidate? Proven experience and knowledge of the discipline of project management including common principles, methodologies and tools used by practitioners Proficient in process improvement and development practices Experience with business case preparation, cost benefit analysis and project execution Advanced knowledge and experience with PPM software tool; Planview experience preferred Experience using Agile/Scrum methodologies preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to tailor the message based on the audience Interpersonal skills necessary to work well with others and collaborate with other stakeholders in the organization Strong problem solving, multi-tasking and decision making abilities Proven ability and experience navigating competing priorities Servant leadership skills and ability to learn new skills quickly Skilled at producing polished reports using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and/or PPM software Ability to plan, execute and improve work processes to ensure achievement of business objectives Proactively achieves goals and objectives and applies critical thinking skills in day-to-day problems and solutions Ability to demonstrate integrity while successfully managing work demands and pressure Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent related work experience required Master’s Degree preferred 4+ years experience in project management role working on large and/or complex projects required Licenses Other: Project Management Certification (PMP, PgMP, Agile, etc.) preferred Agile/Scrum Certifications (CSM, PSM, PMI-ACP, etc.) preferred *Potential for multiple Sr Project Manager positions available What We Offer: Generous benefits package available on day one to include: 401K matching, bonding leave for new parents (12 weeks, 100% paid), tuition assistance, training, GM employee auto discount, community service pay and nine company holidays Our Culture: Our team members define and shape our culture — an environment that welcomes innovative ideas, fosters integrity, and creates a sense of community and belonging.
