About the Position
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for managing several concurrent Fleet Electrification Projects where electric school buses are deployed to First Student locations.  The Project Manager will create and drive plans that will build the required electric infrastructure, hire the proper support personnel, work with federal and state officials to obtain grants and funding, procure and deliver the vehicles and put them into operation. 


Responsibilities:

Project management activities for concurrent, complex projects  Partner with internal and third-party development team members to managing project plan, deliverables, and issue resolutionPartner and work directly with Location Management and front-line employees for business requirement gathering and deployment tasksEstablish production roll out plan and end-user communication planLead specific workstreams and deliver practical activities required to maintain progress to plan (for example, gathering requirements, negotiating contracts, managing suppliers, drafting reports, etc.)Work independently to draft project plan, project deliverables and resource requirementsManage multiple and concurrent large sized projects  Work independently to drive execution of project tasks with escalation when required.Coordinate and lead weekly project status update meetings with core project team membersProvide timely and accurate status and metric reporting.Proactively manage and resolve project issues, risks, and conflict.Present project status updates to various levels of the organizationManage project tasks utilizing Microsoft Project and Procure PPM toolsTrack and report project financials

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree preferably in management information systems or construction management or equivalent experienceDemonstrated experience managing team-based projects and providing direction and support to less experienced staffStrong client management and organizational skills with high attention to detailOutstanding communication, writing and critical thinking skillsHighly motivated with a strong work ethic and desire to advance within the organizationSeven or more years of successful project management experienceThree to five years of experience managing research or consulting projects, which includes experience related to transportation electrification
