Honeywell is hiring an Sr R&D Engineer to drive adoption of our sustainable Honeywell blowing agents, aerosol propellants and solvents through building technical expertise, developing customer relationships, understanding unmet needs within the industry, and navigating the regulatory environment, with a focus on end-of-life considerations for foam and aerosol applications. The candidate will work with global, cross-functional teams focused on research and development toward new opportunities for our products and contribute polymer recycling and blowing agent or aerosol recovery experience to internal expertise in the foam and propellant areas.

The annual base salary range for this position is $114,000-$136,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
In October, 2024 Honeywell announced the spin-off of our Advanced Materials business to become a stand-alone publicly traded company, independent of Honeywell. Our intention is that this role, dedicated to the Advanced Materials business, will be a part of this future transaction when the separation occurs.
KEY RESPONSIBILTIES:
•\tProvide polymer recycling and gas recovery expertise to lead research in improving foam and aerosol product manufacturing sustainability and end-of-life outcomes
•\tIdentify technology opportunities in different foam and aerosol applications and initiate projects for business growth by working closely with the commercial team
•\tContribute to development of foam and aerosol innovation and breakthrough technology pipelines
•\tGenerate new technology and ideas leading to intellectual property including patents
•\tWillingness to travel (10%) to accomplish these responsibilities
YOU MUST HAVE:
•\tBachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
•\t5+ years technical experience in foam, polymer, or aerosol recycling
WE VALUE:
•\tAn engineering degree in Materials or Chemistry
•\tFormulating or technical experience in foam and/or aerosol industry
•\tExperience within an R&D setting
•\tExperience handling and evaluating raw materials for foam applications as well as final products
•\tExperience developing materials intended for circularity, recycling and/or biodegradation at end of life
•\tExperience with blowing agents and/or gas-phase separation and recovery
•\tSome experience with all aspects of technology development
•\tExcellent written and oral communication skills
•\tProject management experience
•\tInvolvement in industry standards bodies
•\tAbility to work independently
•\tWillingness to learn new technologies
•\tAn open, honest, and team-oriented personality
•\tCreativity
