Sr RD&E Program Leader

The Sr. RD&E Program Leader will provide RD&E leadership for the multi disciplined global corporate Enzyme Anchor. The scope of responsibilities requires a strong, innovative technology leader with an entrepreneurial spirit, capable of identifying, developing, and commercializing innovative customer solutions that create value and drive growth.

This role involves leading a highly technical corporate team to align with business teams, quickly identify high-growth priorities, and set the strategy to achieve them. The successful leader will foster relationships between industrial and institutional teams, as well as SSI partners, to build a well-balanced innovation pipeline aligned with unmet customer needs and emerging market solutions. 

Expand market growth in developing sectors within Institutional and drive key programs in the industrial F&B market to enhance cleaning solutions in the Dairy, Beverage, and Brewery segments, both in Flow and membrane markets globally. The leader will need to advance these programs while expanding the portfolio to address emerging solutions across global markets. 

This position reports directly to the Sr. Corporate Scientist of Corporate Enzyme RD&E and aligns on business direction through internal pipeline and technical R&D leaders in the key segments. It is highly visible and cross-functional platform, requiring significant collaboration with business functions, communication with executive management, and extensive work with customers and partners. Team and talent development is also a critical role of this leader.

What you will do: 

Maintain employee safety standards including 6S lab standards. 

Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of key portfolio initiatives aligned with both key research pillars and business ideation road maps.   Support leadership team as an active thought leader and develops long-term strategies and innovation roadmaps to drive profitable cross-divisional growth.    

Facilitate communication between technical and business teams across North America (NA), Europe (EU), and Asia-Pacific (AP) regions.   Provide regular updates and reports to executive leadership.  Ensure that executives are informed about key developments, challenges, and successes 

Ensure alignment and consistency in messaging and objectives across all divisions. 

Demonstrate a strong understanding of SSI partnerships and procurement goals to drive external innovation partnership with some of the largest players in the enzyme market including Novonesis , BASF and IFF. 

Lead innovation strategy and projects that impact all product platforms – including, as needed, program development with associated dispensing, control, packaging, automation and digital. 

Lead the Phase 0/1 Ideation Process with technical R&D leaders and ensure new concepts are prioritized. Identify customer’s unmet needs and develop proactive solutions. 

Provide strong leadership and drive communication and connectivity with anchor technology teams, cross divisional technology areas and global teams. 

Build a high-performing organization by actively modeling Ecolab’s leadership behaviors across all areas of talent management, including talent assessment/selection, development, coaching and mentoring, recognition and succession planning, creating an engaged workforce that delivers on technology objectives 

Work with TPD to review and define market fit of external innovation helping align with go / no go approaches to solutions with business partners. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

Degree or Advanced degree in related technical field. BS and 10+ years or MS, and 7+ years or PhD and 5+ years related experience.

Preferred Qualifications: 

Proven track record of successful development launches 

Strong understanding of industrial and institutional product lines.  Programs around cleaning and operational safety in these spaces.  

Strong background in use of design excellence skills 

Proven track record of successful supervisory experience and talent development of project leaders and technical staff 

Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively lead technical team and to interact with external customers, suppliers and industry experts 

Excellent organizational skills and good attention to detail 

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range

The base salary range for this position is $130,100.00 - $195,100.00. This position is eligible for annual bonus pay based on performance, per plan terms. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
