As a Sr Regulatory Certification Engineer - Wireless Technology with Resideo's Global Regulatory Certification Team, you'll play a crucial role in supporting our product Safety and Certification programs across Resideo's product portfolio. You'll collaborate with key Agency Partners such as UL, Intertek, A2LA, and others, acting as a technical lead in various aspects of regulatory certification.
Your responsibilities will include overseeing and conducting certification test activities, developing, and enhancing certification & lab accreditation programs, supporting improvements of product designs with respect to relevant product safety compliance and certification requirements, and reviewing technical documentation such as data sheets, test reports, and CE Safety Mark Declarations of Conformity (DoCs).
You will manage multiple certification projects simultaneously, making it essential to have a grasp of industry standards and requirements across a multitude of standards including ANSI C63.4, ANSI C63.10, ISO 17025, UL / ULC, CSA, EN, IEC. The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical proficiency in conducting product testing, as well as expertise in drafting and reviewing technical documentation and lab procedures.
**JOB DUTIES:**
+ Support and maintain Certification Agency Data Acceptance Programs (DAP) & Lab Accreditations, ensuring adherence to the Lab's Quality Management System, proper calibration of test equipment, and successful participation in Proficiency Test Programs (PTP) to meet ISO 17025 requirements
+ Prepare, review, and verify sample setups for compliance testing, both at external agencies and under the DAP Certification and Lab Accreditation programs, ensuring all test procedures follow the appropriate regulatory standards
+ Perform compliance testing on a wide range of safety and security products, ensuring conformance to standards such as WiFi Alliance, Bluetooth SIG, Z-Wave Alliance, FCC Part 15, ISED RSS-210, RSS-247, ANSI C63.4, ANSI 63.10, UL 60730 (Automatic Electrical Controls), UL 62368-1 (Audio/Video, Information & Communication Technology Equipment), UL 217, ULC S531, UL 2034, CSA 6.19, and relevant EN standards (EN 14604) for Smoke and CO Safety products
+ Devise and implement comprehensive test plans, validate data collection, and conduct thorough analysis to prepare technical reports for test results and data acceptance submissions
+ Design, build, and continuously improve in-house test fixtures and setups to ensure they meet evolving regulatory certification and Lab accreditation requirements, enabling efficient and accurate testing
+ Manage document control processes within the Lab Management System (LMS), ensuring ongoing compliance with ISO 17025, and drive continuous process improvements through periodic internal audits and annual management review meetings
+ Collaborate closely with Resideo Engineering teams to provide regulatory and compliance support throughout Sustaining and NPI projects, ensuring regulatory requirements are considered from the outset of product development
+ Conduct thorough reviews of technical documentation, including reports, quotes, and compliance testing for wireless and general product certifications across a variety of applicable standards
+ Take ownership of project scopes, performing independent testing and evaluations on various products in accordance with the applicable national and international safety standards, ensuring timely and accurate results
+ Maintain active communication with global regulatory agencies such as UL, Intertek, A2LA, ANAB, and others, providing updates and ensuring alignment on regulatory requirements
**PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:**
+ Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, crouch and climb 6' ladder

+ Regularly required to talk and listen
+ Ability to frequently lift to 50 lbs
+ Frequent exposure to repetitive and/or loud noises
+ Attention and strict adherence to safety protocols is essential in daily work due to the nature of the products being tested (i.e. For Safety products, being around equipment which generates smoke and carbon monoxide particles, equipment and smoke alarms which contain radioactive materials.)
**MUST HAVES:**
+ 6+ years of experience in wireless product testing and certification, with a significant focus on RF engineering and compliance for FCC, ISED, Wi-Fi Alliance, Bluetooth SIG, Z-Wave Alliance, etc
+ In-depth knowledge and understanding of ISO 17025 requirements and processes (i.e. document control, ensuring validity of results, technical competency, etc.)
+ Demonstrated experience in drafting technical documentation and managing certification / compliance projects (preferably related to Safety, Comfort, and/or Security products)
+ Skilled in the performance of risk assessment and root cause analysis, followed by identification and implementation of appropriate corrective actions in support of audit and proficiency test program nonconformities
**WE VALUE:**
+ Proficient in RF performance testing and antenna design verification, including signal interference and wireless protocol testing (with a preference for testing on Safety and/or Security products)
+ Skilled in utilizing specialized RF analysis and debugging tools such as VNAs, spectrum analyzers, and sig gens
+ Hands-on experience with soldering equipment and related tools for electronics repair, assembly, electronics and creation of specialized test setups and fixtures
+ Proven ability to interpret engineering drawings and identify design changes needed to ensure regulatory compliance is maintained for across the product portfolio
+ ISO 17025 calibration and metrology experience
+ Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to business goals
