The Opportunity:
As the Lead Engineer, Mechanical Reliability, Mill, you will be responsible for promoting the Maintenance Reliability program across departmentally in the mill. Additional responsibilities for your role as Lead Engineer, Mechanical Reliability include collecting and analyzing data on maintenance repairs to the equipment and facility, seeking opportunities to improve reliability of the assets, creating preventative maintenance plans, promoting the detection of equipment failures through predictive maintenance, and serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for other Smurfit WestRock sites and external vendors.
How you will impact Smurfit WestRock:
Lead the Reliability program to continuously improve equipment availability and uptime, maximize production, and reduce maintenance costsPlan predictive and preventive maintenance activities to support the strategy, vision and core values of the Maintenance DepartmentConduct equipment failure analyses to identify opportunities to reduce repetitive maintenance and repair issues and to increase facility uptimeDevelop and implement predictive maintenance measure to increase the lifespan of assetsConduct Quality Assurance checks on equipment analysis to plan for scheduled maintenance repair and to validate accurate maintenance requests are orderedServe as an equipment reliability Subject Matter Expert (SME) to Smurfit WestRock facilities and external vendors to support operating excellencePartner with the Maintenance and Production teams to support, educate, and promote reliability program buy-in throughout the facilityCoach and train Reliability personnel (i.e., Vibration Analysts, Reliability Technicians, and Lubrication Technicians) to enable performance excellenceResponsible for conducting business with integrity and respect, being accountable, and actively pursuing excellence to help achieve WestRock’s Path to One goal.What you need to succeed:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering preferred7 + years of work experience in Maintenance Manufacturing with working knowledge of Vibration AnalysisVery analytical with the ability to develop key insights from large sets of data and information from various sources to drive business decisionsExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adjust communication style and simple complex technical information for various audiencesAdept at problem-solving and identifying root cause to implement preventative methodsResults-oriented with a willingness and drive to achieve organizational objectives Aligned with our company values of Integrity, Respect, Accountability, and Excellence
