Sr Risk & Insurance Analyst - Workers Compensation
The Senior Risk and Insurance Analyst – Workers’ Compensation serves as the central point of contact for the day-to-day administration of the Workers’ Compensation Program, ensuring compliance, safeguarding the organization, and supporting employee well-being across the enterprise. Responsibilities Oversee and manage complex workers compensation claim process, including reporting, medical coordination, lost time and return-to-work program. Provide strategic guidance on claims progression, settlement strategy, settlement negotiation and authorization, subrogation, and litigation management. Document and update the Risk and Insurance Information System (RMIS) system as individual claims required. Perform regular audits of individual claim files and review workers’ compensation claims. Efficiently manage caseload ratios by balancing open claims and litigated claims with closed claims. Track legislative changes and recommend updates to internal standard operating procedures (SOPs). Ensure state regulations are adhered to by the Third-Party Administrators (TPAs) and internal business partners. Oversee all activities of the Company’s TPAs for Workers’ Compensation and internal business partners. Analyze complex workers' compensation claims data and utilize dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and evaluate claims handling performance and efficiency. Deliver comprehensive reports and actionable insights to stakeholders, including executive leadership. Partner with HR, safety, and legal teams to implement effective injury prevention and claims management initiatives. Act as the subject matter expert on workers’ compensation matters, providing guidance and training to internal teams. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred. 5 years’ experience managing multi-state worker’s compensation claims, ideally with or for a Fortune 500 company. Certification as a Workers’ Compensation Professional (WCP), Certified Workers’ Compensation Claims Professional (CWCCP), Associate in Claims (AIC), or other industry recognized workers’ compensation designations is preferred. Skills & Abilities In-depth knowledge of workers’ compensation laws and regulations across all U.S. states. Demonstrated ability to manage TPAs effectively, including negotiating SLAs and monitoring KPIs. Experience with Risk Management Information System such as Origami and ViaOne. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerBI.
