The global Automotive Safety Office is responsible for establishing policies, strategies and providing independent oversight to ensure vehicle compliance, enhance real world safety and protect the corporate reputation.
You'll have...
· Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering preferred.
· Strong strategic thinking and analytical problem-solving skills
· A strong understanding of Ford product development and manufacturing processes
· High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse, cross-functional organizations and global teams.
· Effective oral communication and strong technical writing skills
· Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management
· Strong working knowledge of vehicle systems

What you'll do…
Lead internal & external safety defect investigations, including compliance investigations. Establish & document the company’s positions with data driven analysis and well-articulated arguments. Identify concerns with global impact and work with regional CCRG peers in the resolution of potential concerns. Lead collaborative interactions with many Ford organizations including Product Development (PD), Ford Customer Service Division, Supplier Technical Assistance, Manufacturing, Office of General Counsel (OGC) in the evaluation and resolution of potential issues. Work with facing organizations to develop and conduct special tests, field surveys, etc., to help assess the necessary facts in the evaluation of potential safety and compliance issues. Prepare presentations and reports, including engineering analysis and the coordination of special vehicle/component demonstrations, to be used in both technical and non-technical discussions with all levels of leadership. Work proactively with NHTSA and TC on government investigations and compliance audits. Collaborate with facing organizations in the development of service solutions for potential field issues. Create & maintain investigation documentation in accordance with document retention guidelines and submit regulatory documentation as necessary. Identify potential lessons-learned opportunities in support of the company’s efforts to prevent future potential recalls through involvement in stop ships, Prevent Action Closures, Campaign Trends Task Force meetings, SDS development, and other initiatives. Provide technical assistance to the OGC, Design Analysis, PD activities, and outside law firms as appropriate.
