International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF) has an exciting opportunity for an Analytical Specialist in Midland, Michigan.  This role is part of the Pharma Solutions business unit of International Flavors and Fragrances (IFF).  The Analytical Specialist role supports production and research on existing and new pharmaceutical excipients.

This role provides analytical technical expertise, ensures compliance with regulations, and improves analytical system performance and reliability.  We are looking for an Analytical Chemist, who will develop and implement validated test methods and support the performance of complex analyses in the quality control laboratories.  In this role, close cooperation within the Polymer Characterization group and across departments with research and development, quality assurance, and production is essential.

The Pharma Solutions labs use techniques such as wet chemical analysis, viscosity, chromatographic methods, FTIR and XRF

Responsibilities:

Provide analytical and process chemistry expertise to resolve process, product, and analytical problemsProvide the analytical technical link to the ETHOCEL and POLYOX plantsScreen complicated service requests for value and alignment with goalsRoute analytical requests to the appropriate service providerPerform complex analyses and interpret and report analytical dataProvide expertise for troubleshooting and guidance for problem solvingImplement laboratory improvementsValidate methodsAnticipate analytical and product quality problems and address proactivelyMonitor and improve analytical system performance and capabilityContinuously improve and leverage analytical best practicesLead root cause investigations related to analytical problemsTrain others on analytical systems and technologyNetwork with other technical personnel to stay current with analytical technologies and leverage technical solutions
