Inventory managementUse inventory/order management electronic systems to perform the following activities: on-site program replenishments and disbursements, receiving, put-away, stock rotation, cycle counts, order entry and expediting, customer service call resolution, product returns, and backorder processing.Equipment maintenance and service supportServicing and general maintenance of equipment located.Coordination and collecting of equipment to be sent for maintenance to outside vendors.Escorting of vendors on premises to provide additional contracted services (laundry, gases, waste collection, dry ice, etc.)Removing of lab waste and staging for pickup by vendors.Environmental health and safety preventative monthly maintenance checks and services.Essential FunctionsAssists with data collection, report generation and site metric development in support of contractual obligations and standard process methodologies.Follow well-defined procedures as outlined by Best Practices, SOPs & work instructions. Take direction from Site Supervisor/Manager (and Team Lead) regarding daily duties.Independently makes decisions and uses available resources to meet customer requirements.Demonstrates proficiency at gathering and communicating job or site-specific performance metrics.Communicates with supervisor any customer issues or potential problems.Promotes personal growth and development by staying updated on new policies and improvements without the presence of site trainer and management team.Listens to customer concerns, effectively diffuses dissatisfaction, and quickly identifies a course of action with a goal of first call resolution within established turnaround times.Works effectively with a diverse cross-functional team.Adopts Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodologies.Access & use Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Intranet and SharePoint document management system.Always represent Thermo Fisher Scientific in a positive light throughout customer locations.Preferred QualificationsExperience in a laboratory setting or services.Experience in a scientific or manufacturing setting.Experience in GLP/GMP environment.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities1+ years' experience with Inventory management and Procurement, preferably pertaining to the life sciences industry.Ability to function efficiently under minimal direction.Demonstrated verbal, written, and presentation skills.Receiving and handling of goods involves physical labor. Safely pick up to 40lbs and stand for prolonged periods of time.Diligent, problem solver, and fosters a collaborative environment.Computer/software skills (i.e., Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Must deliver excellent customer service, including always maintaining a professional appearance.Must possess the operating skills to use handheld scanners and learn to enter data in various systems as necessary.Flexibility to potentially service various customer locations within a reasonable range.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $19.64–$29.45.
