Express has an exciting opportunity for a curious, motivated, forward thinking, analytical software senior data engineer to join and shape the future of the Enterprise Data team for the Enterprise Data department. The Sr. Data Engineer will work on developing exciting solutions on a day-to-day basis. Through developing these solutions, you will help drive foundational transformation in the Enterprise Data organization.   

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Engage in design, development, testing, deployment, enhancements and troubleshooting of Technology solutionsCollaborate with business partners, project management and cross-functional technology teams on requirements & design to build new software solutions or enhancement of existing onesIdentify and ensure that data sources and integrations can support the need of the business and document any gapsIdentify and ensure that data sources and integrations can support the need of technology solutions and document any gaps.Building data solutions with Python, SQL, BASH, and other integration technologiesMonitors, analyzes, enhances, and troubleshoots the existing big data platformPerform code reviews to ensure all solutions meet architectural, functional and performance requirements. Participates in 24/7 production support activity with the teamIdentify and fix issues with existing reporting including any issues in data, integrations, batch processing and performance Support a large user base in resolving reported issues Participate in administration, upgrades, patching and improvement of deployed technologiesManage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables. Mentor junior resources on the team and ensure quality. Conduct training sessions for users of technology solutions

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent job experience. Outstanding analytical skills and passionate about problem solving with a positive attitudeFamiliarity with data needs, integration and governance across a global organization at a metadata levelFamiliarity with the areas and concepts in Master Data Management, Data Warehousing, Analytics, ERP, and CRM5-7 years of experience in delivering enterprise wide big data solutions5-7 years of experience with Cloud Computing3-5 years of experience with unix environments including scripting and system administrationStrong ability to understand and analyze data using complex SQL queries Strong understanding of relational concepts and knowledge of databases like Google Big-Query, Snowflake, SQL Server, Knowledge of Collaboration, Automation and Source Control Tools like JIRA, Confluence, Atlassian Stack, GitHub and Control M. Possess an excellent knowledge of software development (i.e., program design, flowcharting, coding, testing, debugging, etc.).Ability to code in languages like Java, Visual Basic, C#, Powershell, Python etcExposure to Google cloud or similar cloud platformsPreferred experience in Retail / Supply Chain industryExperience with Agile Methodologies using Atlassian
