Responsibilities:
Be a people first software manager who will enact change and foster growthProvide deep technical software understanding and effective people management Lead a group of software professionals and first line managers as a supervisor or leader of a functional organization (software). Role includes second line manager who does performance goal setting and evaluation, skills mentoring / professional skills training, and career development for SW staffLead software engineering proposals where you will perform task definition and estimating work to accomplish those tasksDevelop and drive software product roadmap ensuring viability and customer goals are metQualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or other related discipline and typically 10 or more years of relevant experienceHigher education may substitute for relevant experience3 or more years of technical leadership experience with direct people management Knowledge of software engineering principals, practices, and processes including software life cycle, DevOps, configuration management, testing, hardware integration, cyber security Strong verbal and written communication skillsKnowledge of Government Reference Architectures (GRA), Modular Open System Approach (MOSA), and command and control mission systemsKnowledge of software open system standards such as Open Mission Systems (OMS) and Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE)
Qualifications We Prefer:
