Job Description:
L3Harris in San Diego, CA is seeking a senior professional with strong knowledge of RF/microwave engineering and communication theory to support the design and manufacture of Tracking, Telemetry, and Command products for airborne and space-based applications. The engineer will perform circuit card and subsystem design, integration and test of RF hardware. The ideal candidate will possess a diverse array of skills, encompassing proficiency in RF/microwave engineering, knowledge of digital modulation techniques, and an in-depth grasp of communications theory.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for all aspects of RF/microwave product development, including circuit card and subsystem design, schematic capture, circuit design, derating, and Worst-Case Analysis (WCA)Manage complex projects or processes with general oversightDetermine design approaches and parametersUtilize modeling tools and equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests, and evaluate resultsSelect components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliabilityPerform simulations and present design reviews to peer engineersLead and perform trade studies required to make both tactical and strategic technical decisions for programsConduct design verification testing to validate the performance of designsTroubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to RF hardware and digital communication systemsProvide mentoring, guidance and leadership to novice engineersQualifications:
Bachelors of Sciencce degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required and at least 6 years of industry experience.Masters of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with at least 4 years of industry experience.
