Responsibilities

Job Summary/Purpose

 

The mission of EHR Governance is to drive excellence at Ascension by designing and implementing intelligent standards, content, and configurations that streamline our health care operations. The process will provide expert guidance for developing and maintaining systems that transform organizational efficiency and enhance the care of our patients.

 

The EHR Governance Sr Specialist provides operational support for the EHR Governance process, assisting in the creation of national standards.

 

Functional Responsibilities

 

Collaborates with Application Owners, Technical Directors, Clinical Informaticists, the Chief Medical Information Officer, and the Chief Nursing Information Officer to develop EHR content and configuration standards. Also develops strong working relationships with many Ascension clinical leaders and National Councils.

Facilitates meetings between clinical, operational, and AT stakeholders across the enterprise.

Participates in strategic planning to ensure the adoption of EHR Governance initiatives.

Coordinates with stakeholders to ensure that EHR standards are documented and stored in a central repository.

Maintains and ensures accuracy of the standards repository.

Assists in monitoring, designing and implementing EHR Governance processes, with an emphasis on process improvement and efficiency.

Analyzes and documents current and future workflows related to EHR Governance.

Monitors the EHR Governance process and presents findings to a variety of groups, translating key information to influential audiences.

 

Leadership/Interpersonal Skills

 

Deep understanding of clinical, operational, and IT aspects of national health systems.

Excellent facilitation and influencing skills, building trust and respect with stakeholders at all levels.

Strong meeting facilitation and presentation skills across different channels.

Effective communicator, able to promote positive working relationships to achieve desired outcomes.

Demonstrates proactive behavior and self-management to support leadership in operationalizing EHR Governance goals.

Proactively manages issues and risks, escalating as necessary.

Comfortable operating in ambiguous situations.

 

Qualifications: Education and Work Experience

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Five or more years of related experience, preferably in healthcare IT, clinical informatics, or performance improvement.

Strong background in ServiceNow preferred.

Process Improvement experience preferred.

Change Management experience preferred.

Requirements

Education:

High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. 2 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
