Job Description

The position is the interfaces with product, test, and design engineering with a focus on customer systems application/design-in and collateral related tasks for new and existing products. The engineer must be capable of investigating advanced solutions, defining, and validating complete 48V DC/DC solution.

 

Responsibilities

Investigate and verify advanced solutions to meet latest requirements of 48V DC/DC application.Maintain exited 48V solution of designing eval board, validation, continually improvement.Provide referenced design to customer and provide technical support to customer.Communicate with customers for design review, solution presentation, issue solving.Write product datasheets with applications sections, application notes, internal and external presentations, and demo board user manuals, responsible for all text, graphs, and diagrams.Perform and design Lab tests (using manual and automatic methods of measurement) to verify, characterize, and prevent future failures of analog/power management circuits using Lab benchtop equipment. 
Qualifications
BS or above in Power Electronics Engineering or equivalent with minimum of 10 years’ hand-on experience in the 48V DC/DC power module industryGood understanding of basic topology, control loop theory and its application in power convertersProficiency with SIMPLIS or similar circuit simulator in a switching regulator contextProficiency with PCB CAD tools for both schematic and layout.Excellent lab-based problem-solving skills.  Ability to debug & dig out the root cause.Have driven force in projects, results oriented.Experience of people management is preferred.

This is an opportunity to join a 48V Applications Taiwan Team with Renesas Electronics America’s leading power management product line. You will help develop, qualify, design-in, and support next-generation IC products for applications such as datacenters, electrical vehicles, AI, etc.

 

What we need:

The Performance Computing Power Division team is seeking an application engineer who is excited about working on 48V DC/DC for server and infrastructure processor/SOC applications. You will support the development of 48V DC/DC power converter products with Renesas’ advanced control architectures.  Excellent communication skills and technical knowledge are required as you will work across geographies both internally and in support of our global customer base.  We’re looking for someone eager to learn, ready to hit the ground running, you.
