We are looking for you to join our team as a Sr. Staff Chief Engineer for the ISMS-2 program.  ISMS-2 is a large scale, systems of systems program.  ISMS-2 is a surveillance, command and control, voice and data communications, ESM/ELINT and long-haul microwave communications system.  This position is based out of Elkridge, MD and will be 100% on-site.

As an integral part of our Engineering & Sciences leadership team you will support the diverse portfolio of the MLSS Business Unit.  Our team is chartered with providing the skills, innovative technologies to develop, design, produce and sustain optimized product lines across the sector while providing a decisive advantage to the warfighter.

Roles & Responsibilities:

The Chief Engineer owns the responsibility for the technical development and direction of all engineering aspects on a program, including design, development, implementation, testing and delivery of a product to a customer.The Chief Engineer acts as both a technical leader for the engineering team as well as an independent advisor to the program manager.The Chief Engineer coordinates across Product Team Leads and all engineering disciplines on the program to ensure that the teams adhere to engineering processes in accordance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.Interfacing with product design teams for implementation of root cause resolutionsThe Chief Engineer works with technical leads to develop schedules, technical briefs and status.The Chief Engineer owns the engineering staffing, program planning and execution. The Chief Engineer supports EVMS.

  

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in STEM and a minimum of 14 years of related experience, master's degree with a minimum of 12 years of related experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.Candidate must be a US Citizen and have a current/active DoD Secret Clearance. Must be able to maintain this level of clearance for continued employment.Strong understanding of Systems Engineering concepts, including requirements analysis and verification planning and executionKnowledge and experience with RF Hardware and test equipmentKnowledge and experience with proposals, basis of estimate creation and technical volumesWillingness to travel internationally. (as/if needed up to 10%)Knowledge and experience with Agile principles, tools, and implementation

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or other related technical fields.Active DoD Top Secret Clearance or higher.Knowledge and experience in the development of ground, air, or sea-based radar, EW, and/or COMMS systems.Knowledge and experience in on-site test demonstrations planning and execution.Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex HW/SW integration problems.Experience providing technical direction on complex systems.

Salary Range: $179,600.00 - $269,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
