Amazon Extra Large (AMXL) is a single-threaded organization with ownership of the end-to-end (E2E) customer experience for large, heavy, and bulky products. AMXL consolidates E2E supply chain: strategy, data analytics, tech, operations, warehousing, order fulfillment, transportation, and delivery. AMXL also offers special handling services such as Room of Choice delivery, Haul-Away, and Installation/Assembly for select items. This role would support AMXL in US & Canada (NA).
This team member will be responsible for executing the AMXL Plan of Record (POR) for Fullfillment Centers (FC). A strong candidate for this role is an effective communicator, is comfortable in ambiguous situations, and is committed to improving the AMXL network. Additionally, this individual is adept at analyzing raw data, interpreting findings, and presenting insights to stakeholders to influence business decision.
Key job responsibilities
- Plan, communicate and then own the POR with alignment from central teams.
- Coordinate the Building Requirements Specifications (BRS) and drive the site selection process or retrofit process with Demand Planning, Finance, Ops Engineering, and central/supporting teams to ensure capacity is achieved.
- Create process and mechanisms to drive improvements to the POR, Launch, Move, Closure and Retrofit process.
- Prepare business inputs and modeling updates to the Capital Appropriation Request (CAR) document and ensure approvals meet need-by-dates.
- Estimate and bridge the impact of changes to the plan in quarterly planning cycles along with Mid-Term Planning (MTP).
- Leverage Modeling & Optimization (MOP) tools to model scenarios and understand the impacts.
- Maintain the POR as the source of truth, update in the end-to-end Living POR, and communicate to the AMXL network.
- Write data driven white papers with recommendations on changes to the plan.
- Host Monthly Meetings to update AMXL leadership on the plan.
- Provide CAPEX inputs/estimates as part of the yearly and quarterly budget/planning cycles.
- Ensure Confidential information it properly communicated.
A day in the life
As a Sr. Supply Chain Manager, you will act as the Single Threaded Leader (STL) and be the primary resource for external/central teams. You will attend relevant WBRs, MBRs, CAR and Site meetings and support with relevant content as needed. You will write white papers on each project, outlining the business case with financial justification.
You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with internal AMXL teams and external central teams, maintain the living Plan of Record (POR) as the source of truth and communicate to AMXL stakeholders via Quicksight. You will actively seek out discrepancies to identify gaps in information and resolve by addressing the root cause. Up to 10% travel required.
About the team
The Long Term Planning (LTP) E2E Launch Planning team is responsible for executing the Plan of Record (POR); driving it from planning cycle to reality. Our team is End-to-End managing the AMXL Fulfillment Center (FC), Sort Center (SC) and Delivery Station (DS). This includes conducting the financial and operational assessment of real estate options for the selection of both spec and build-to-suite buildings, driving the Capital Allocation Request (CAR) process for the procurement of new AMXL buildings and capital investments, and managing the construction timelines and launch schedules for the resulting deals.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- 5+ years of supply chain experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
- Knowledge of SQL at an intermediate level, including: compile queries, subqueries, aggregation/grouping, data modification, etc.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $103,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $181,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
