This role sits in the Disney Signature Experiences organization within Technology & Digital for Disney Experiences. It works closely with application and technology teams from across the company.
**About The Role & Team:**
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sr Systems Engineer to join a team responsible for maintaining the operational efficiency and reliability of both our shipboard and shoreside systems and services. In this role, you will work at the intersection of technology, guest experience, and operational excellence, ensuring that we continuously minimize downtime and optimize the performance of our infrastructure. You will also drive the seamless integration of advanced technologies in the cruise industry, aligning them with business needs and enhancing customer experiences.
**This position requires a proven and experienced engineer in DevSecOps, desired state configurations, Kubernetes provisioning and support in both on-prem datacenters and cloud platforms, with a focus on maintaining high availability, scalability, and security in critical systems.** Supported platforms include, but aren’t limited to web applications, mobile applications, POS systems, payment gateways, reservation systems, safety systems, and order management. You will also collaborate with various teams to deliver industry-leading solutions that exceed guest expectations.
**What You'll Do:**
+ Design, analyze, evaluate, test, debug and implement applications supporting company business processes and operations
+ Analyze, install, acquire, modify, and support operating systems, database, or utilities software
+ Plan, conduct, and direct the analysis of business problems to be solved with automated systems within a small scope or as directed.
+ Contribute to the development, testing, evaluation or design of system or infrastructure architecture used throughout the IT solution set
+ Advanced knowledge of code for desktop applications, software APIs, and automation for use by internal engineering and creative partners
+ Aid in guiding teammates in the analysis and organization of common business problems to be solved with automated systems
+ You will be expected to stay up to date with emerging technologies
**Required Qualifications (must have experience):**
+ Minimum 5 years of related work experience in Systems Engineering
+ **Proficiency in Kubernetes & Rancher, VMWare, DevSecOps, and Automation,** with a proactive demeanor towards continuous learning and skill development, and an interest in mastering emerging data engineering tools and methodologies
+ Proficiency in a programming language **(Powershell, Python, Ruby, etc)**
+ Proficiency with distributed version control systems (e.g., GIT) with Continuous Integration/Deployment techniques (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Harness, etc)
+ Expertise in a public cloud **(AWS, Azure, GCP)**
+ Proficiency with containerization
+ Proficiency supporting SQL & Oracle technologies
+ Comfortable working in an agile environment
+ Expertise in architecting highly scalable and highly available systems
+ Technical experience in consumer and employee facing enterprise systems
+ Ability to troubleshoot applications and systems
+ Expertise in maintaining web, caching, and queuing technologies in large high traffic environments.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Experience in the cruise industry or similar high-availability, customer-centric industries.
+ Certifications in AWS, Azure, VMware, Kubernetes, or related cloud technologies.
+ RedHat OpenShift experience preferred
+ Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks

**Required Education:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
**Preferred Education:**
+ Certifications in AWS, Azure, VMware, Kubernetes, or related cloud technologies
