Sr Tax Accountant

The Senior Tax Accountant will assist with tax accounting, tax compliance (Federal & state income tax as well as sales & use and other taxes), tax planning, people & process development and communication & collaboration with all internal and external business partners.

 

Key Roles & Responsibilities: 

 

Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provision calculations, financial statement disclosures as well as SOX documentation  Facilitate the preparation of federal, state and local tax returns, extensions and estimated payments by working with outside consultants Review federal, state and local income tax returns once prepared Prepare taxable income projections used to forecast cash taxes payable for federal, state, and local taxing jurisdictions Prepare book to tax differences (depreciation, UNICAP, etc.) Provides support for IRS and state audits Resolve and respond to state tax notices Prepare tax journal entries Perform monthly account reconciliations for tax accounts Assist with the monitoring and analysis of new tax laws, regulations, and court cases to ensure the Company’s compliance with federal, state, and local requirements Assist with sales and use and property tax Work with the senior manager to develop and establish processes for the income tax function

            

Qualifications & Competencies: 

Reliable and trustworthy Ability to work independently and within a team Maintains a positive attitude; works with a sense of urgency; demonstrates timely and thorough execution Possesses the ability to handle multiple tasks and shift priorities with the demands of the business  2+ years of federal and state corporate tax experience at a large public accounting firm or industry Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Accounting, CPA or CPA candidate
