Sr Tax Analyst - Technology

Molson Coors is seeking an analytical, collaborative and motivated Tax Technology Specialist to join our Global Tax Team based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Tax Technology Specialist will support the relationship between the Global Tax Team and our internal and external technology partners, as well as support the Team’s technology vision and ambitions to modernize our global tax processes. Reporting to the Tax Technology Manager, this role will be responsible for serving the Tax Team as a business partner, leveraging and building on existing technology solutions to drive a culture of continuous improvement, and identifying and implementing cost-effective solutions to raise the Tax Team’s effectiveness. Knowledge of tax laws and regulations is preferred, but not required.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

As a subject matter expert on tax technology matters, work closely with Tax Team stakeholders to understand their technology requirements, and support the identification and implementation of process improvements to improve efficiencies and reduce errors.

 

Support the ongoing maintenance, problem solving and training for our existing tax technology platforms, ensuring that continued best practices and controls are followed.

 

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including the Tax, IT and Finance teams to identify opportunities for the automation of tax processes and the efficient use of new technology.

 

Conduct formal and informal learning sessions and training for Tax Team members and other stakeholders on effective utilization of technology and tools, and process improvement solutions.

 

Support the creation and maintenance of tax process documentation, training materials, and standard operating procedures.

 

Stay up to date on emerging trends and best practices in tax technology, including software developments, automation, and data analytics.

 

 

Candidate Profile

 

The successful candidate is a self-starter, who is proficient in leveraging technology to drive continuous improvement. If she or he does not have a background in Tax, eagerness and the ability to learn the ever-evolving tax landscape is important. The successful candidate must possess the ability to collaborate and maintain strong business relationships with team members and business partners around the world, both within the Company and externally. The successful candidate is a problem solver with the ability to understand a problem, develop a solution, communicate the solution to stakeholders, and deliver results. The successful candidate will be able to effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines within Molson Coors’ fast-moving environment and flexible hybrid work arrangement. 

 

Required Experience

 

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent (defined as 4 years applicable experience)

 

Minimum of four (4) years of experience in IT, data analytics, systems design, or related fields

 

Experience with SAP or similar ERP system

 

Working knowledge in automation tools and technologies, including data analytics tools such as data extraction, transformation and visualization, e.g., SQL, Power Query, Power BI, Tableau.

 

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite products

 

Team player with excellent interpersonal skills

 

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

 

Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and deliver results within established timelines

 

Continuous learning mindset with a desire for staying up to date with emerging technologies and trends

 

Preferred Experience

 

Working knowledge of tax laws and regulations, direct and/or indirect tax, and tax compliance requirements

 

Experience with tax technology tools and software, such as tax automation, tax determination and tax reporting solutions like CorpTax, ONESOURCE, or Vertex

 

Experience working with large datasets and building and managing complex, econometric models

 

Experience implementing third-party direct or indirect systems or applications, e.g., Alteryx, Vertex, and CorpTax

 

Ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences and translate business objectives into actionable processes
