Offers may vary depending on the circumstances of each case. **Summary:** The Sr. Human Resource Specialist position performs back-office administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of Rush’s people processes. This position processes routine and non-routine transactions of moderate to high complexity in accordance with standard operating procedures and as required to support accurate processing of benefits, compensation, payroll, and other key employee administrative people processes. This position also administers the organizational structure through maintenance of positions, organizational units, and employment expense allocations. This position also serves as a front-door for consulting and/or fulfilling complex HR reporting requests. This position also coaches and mentors more junior HR Specialists on the team. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures. **Required Job Qualifications:** • Associate degree and 3 years of hands-on experience utilizing a complex HRIS system; prior experience using Infor/Lawson an asset. • A high school diploma and 5 years of relevant work experience will be accepted in lieu of an associate degree. • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact and professionalism. • Excellent attention to detail. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Excellent organizational and time management skills, including the ability to work under time pressure to meet established transaction service level agreements. • Assertive self-starter and independent thinker with ability to work effectively both individually and in team environment. • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. **Preferred Job Qualifications:** • SHRM-CP or HRCI-PHR professional certifications highly desired. • SHRM-SCP or HRCI-SPHR professional certification an asset. • Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) professional designations an asset. • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) professional designation an asset. **Responsibilities:** • Maintains accurate and up-to-date personnel files, records, and documentation while ensuring confidentiality of these files and records is preserved at all times. • Performs routine and non-routine administrative tasks related to employee transactions and transitions including but not limited to: on-boarding, internal transfers, promotions, life events, special payments, layoffs, leaves of absence, terminations, and other special programs. • Collaborates with people process centers of expertise, as necessary, to research and resolve benefits, compensation, payroll and other people process processing issues. • Adapts existing processes and standard operating procedures of moderate to high complexity, as required, to continuously improve services offered by the transaction processing team. • Defines new processes and standard operating procedures of moderate to high complexity, as required, to bring additional services into the transaction processing team. • Answers frequently asked questions related to people processes and policies; refers more complex questions to appropriate centers of expertise. • Tracks and publishes operational metrics used to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of the transaction processing team. • Promotes use of employee and manager self-service by coaching on availability and usage of ESS/MSS transactions on the employee service portal and via the core HR system. • Conducts or assists with record audits and preparation/filing of mandatory reports, which may include I-9 audits, EEO-1 filings, payroll audits, and other compliance reviews. • Ensures employee benefit administration is performed in compliance with the applicable provisions of COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA. • Performs other related duties as assigned.
