**38816BR** **Extended Job Title:** Sr Ultrasound Tech **Org Level 1:** Texas Tech Unv Hlth Sci Ctr El Paso **Position Description:** Produces two dimensional ultrasonic recordings of internal organs for use by Physician in diagnosis of disease and study of malfunction of organs by performing the following duties. Works under general supervision, functions independently within established guidelines and procedures. Work is performed under usual clinic and office conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Requires a high degree of contact with patients and physicians **Requisition ID:** 38816BR **Optional Attachments:** Transcript **Travel Required:** None **Major/Essential Functions:** + Prepares patients for ultrasound exam, explains procedure and ensures technical quality + Performs accurate operation of ultrasound equipment (trans-abdominally and trans-vaginally) to perform the following types of scans: a. Nuchal Translucency and first trimester examinations, b. Fetal anatomic survey, including genetic ultrasound, and follow-up sonograms, c. Transvaginal cervical length + Accurate operation of ultrasound equipment to provide ultrasound guidance to physicians as they perform prenatal diagnostic procedures (amniocentesis/amnio infusion/amnio dye test) and gynecologic ultrasound guided procedures ( e.g. saline infusion sonography + Demonstrates ability to perform pelvic ultrasound examinations and assess pelvic structures and masses determinate endometrial thickness and morphology, perform color flow analysis of uterine and ovarian lesions, assess early normal and abnormal pregnancy, etc. + Performs analysis of sonograms, synthesizes sonographic information and medical history, prepares preliminary report and communicates findings to the appropriate physician. + Assists in care of ultrasound equipment by following daily departmental procedures. + Recognizes and reports any accidents, complaints or equipment malfunction to the Director of Ultrasound Division/Manager and/or supervisor. + Independently perform all obstetrical and gynecological ultrasounds (i.e has more than 3 years of MFM experience). + Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required. + Adhere to all TTUHSCEP policies, procedures and processes. + Personally demonstrate, display, and act in accordance with TTUHSCEP’s values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork). + Actively promote and encourage staff across the institution. + Perform all other duties as assigned. **Grant Funded?:** No **Minimum Hire Rate:** Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications **Pay Basis:** Hourly **Work Location:** El Paso **Preferred Qualifications:** + Bilingual (English/Spanish) + Experience with GE Voluson E10 **Campus:** HSC - El Paso **Department:** Clinical Operations OB/GYN **Required Attachments:** Professional License or Certification, Resume / CV **Job Type:** Full Time **Pay Statement:** Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as, the institutional pay plan.
