This opportunity entails leading interdisciplinary coordination, identifying impacts, and coordinating the relocation of utilities in advance of construction. Monitoring utility relocations during construction. Works closely with clients, utility owners, industry partners and across design disciplines to assess project’s impacts on roadway, transit, drainage and other infrastructure projects.
What You’ll Do:
Leads the design and execution of utility coordination programs for mega and super mega projects including, but not limited to, subsurface utility investigation, resolution of utility conflicts, the management of documentation as required by the client and utility clearance that is in conformance with state/federal regulations and industry standards.Oversees the preparation and packaging of utility construction permits for submission to municipal and state agencies, including Relocation Claim Letters (RCL), Notice to Owners (NTO) and Utility Agreements (UA), as appropriate.Collaborates with other HNTB utility coordination teams to facilitate discussions and shape industry best practices.Provides regular reporting surrounding utility coordination status and risks to project scope, schedule, and budget to all stakeholders.Facilitates and monitors progress related to utility conflict resolution.May be responsible for a deputy PM role, coordinating time and budget on jobs, ensuring quality controls are maintained, developing project scope and fee, and assisting in the preparation of proposals and contracts. Performs other duties as assigned.What You’ll Need:
Associate’s degree and 8 years or relevant experience, orIn lieu of a degree, 10 years of relevant experienceWhat You’ll Bring:
Acts as a subject matter expert in all areas of the utility coordination process.Demonstrates advanced knowledge regarding right of way rights, easements, franchises, encroachment permits, joint use and consent to common use agreements. Ability to determine liability based on researching prior rights through title research, easement documents, permitting, licensing and franchises, etc.Proficient with BlueBeam and other, similar applications.General understanding of third party utility owners and their processes as related to conflicts with public infrastructure projects. General knowledge of State, Federal, County and City laws, policies, rules regulations and procedures as they relate to the relocation of utilities.What We Prefer:
