General Summary
TheSr. Audiovisual Systems Engineer (AV)is responsible foroverseeing the daily operations of WSSC Water’s audiovisual systems and services, includingthe analysis, design, implementation, and ongoing support of the organization’s AV infrastructure. The engineer will collaborate directly with customers and key decision-makers to provide expert solutions, recommendations, and strategic plans for AV network requirements. Additionally, they will mentor team members, guiding them in their responsibilities.
Staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, theSr. Audiovisual Systems Engineer is tasked with developing and maintaining a modern AV network that prioritizes speed, functionality, security, and cost-efficiency.With a creative and innovative mindset, they will approach each project to drive forward-thinking solutions.
Working under moderate supervision, the Sr. AV Systems Engineer will leverage their experience and judgment to plan and achieve goals. As an integral IT & AV professional, they contribute to fulfilling the IT department’s work plan, contributing to the creation of RFPs, and actively supporting IT senior leadership of WSSC Water’s strategic goals.
Essential Functions
+ Supports all audiovisual daily operations, including monthly Commission meetings, bi-county meetings, employee service awards, and audio & video interviews
+ Supports all off-site events requiring AV support such as employee appreciation picnics, executive level and all manager meetings, and IT Tech Expo
+ Supports the existing infrastructure and assists in the design and deployment of audiovisual solutions for both business and technical initiatives
+ Maintains knowledge of industry trends and best practices to propose solutions to improve the audiovisual infrastructure
+ Comprehensively prepares and maintains audiovisual infrastructure diagrams and other technical documentation
+ Supports any WSSC Water initiatives with product evaluations, integration and ongoing product management for components of the enterprise network
+ Ensures the audiovisual implementation meets client service level agreements
+ Assists in the implementation of audiovisual network requirements, including disaster recovery, 3rd party connections, and remote connectivity
+ Installs and maintains audiovisual equipment in or on all types of buildings and structures
+ Uses schematics and wiring diagrams as guides for repair and installation assignments
+ Documents and maintains records of all installation and repair work
+ Maintains updated parts inventory of audiovisual supplies (tapes, batteries, cabling, etc.) and related electronic equipment
+ Participates in a preventive maintenance program (such as cleaning monitors and lenses and changing batteries and light bulbs)
+ Maintains, repairs, and installs various audiovisual systems, including video teleconferencing, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and WebEx
+ Diagnoses and resolves various media system problems
+ Organizes and maintains compliance, license, and warranty information related to audio and video systems
+ Develops manuals, texts, workbooks, and related materials for use in conjunction with production materials or for training
+ Implements a system for real-time remote monitoring of all conference room technologies, accompanied by status dashboards that provide clear and up-to-date insights into the operational health and availability of the equipment
+ Provides project management for audiovisual upgrades and new installations
+ Delivers, sets up and operates public address systems and other audiovisual equipment
+ Delivers, sets up and supports portable computer equipment, portable, and fixed lighting equipment
+ Maintains comprehensive documentation of Microsoft Teams Rooms ( MTR ) configurations, settings, and user guides
+ Deploys MTR projects, including planning, scheduling, and execution

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
+ Advanced knowledge of the operation, repair, editing and installation of audiovisual equipment
+ Knowledge of high availability (HA) technologies and techniques
+ Audio and video editing experience
+ Understands the hazards and precautionary methods of the trade
+ Ability to read and interpret writing diagrams and circuit schematics
+ Good customer focus and ability to work with and meet business users and their requirements
+ Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving abilities
+ Self-motivated and takes initiative to proactively solve problems
+ Effective interpersonal interaction skills, such as partnering, conflict management, consulting, and mentoring
+ Experience providing excellent customer service support with audiovisual systems
+ Experience in deploying and managing Microsoft Teams Rooms ( MTR ) in a large enterprise environment
+ Excellent understanding of Microsoft Teams, Office 365, and audiovisual conferencing technologies
+ Experience/knowledge working with Android, Windows, Intune, and MDM (mobile device management)
+ Audiovisual experience and proficiency in network troubleshooting, endpoint management
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Minimum Education, Experience Requirements
+ Bachelors’ degree and 4+ years professional audiovisual experience that includes Microsoft Teams Rooms and Intune
OR
+ High school diploma (or equivalent) and 8+ years professional audiovisual experience that includes Microsoft Teams Rooms and Intune
Additional Requirements
Completion of the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission ( WSSC ) Financial Disclosure statement within 30 days of employment and annually thereafter
