Description We are looking for a skilled Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Newport, Rhode Island. In this role, you will handle key accounting tasks such as bank reconciliations, general ledger entries. This position requires attention to detail, a strong grasp of accounting principles, and proficiency with tools like Microsoft Excel. Responsibilities: • Perform bank reconciliations on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records. • Record and manage general ledger entries, including cash receipts and other financial transactions. • Reconcile accounts and balance sheets to maintain the integrity of financial data. • Support month-end close activities by preparing necessary reports and documentation. • Utilize accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP to manage and analyze financial data. • Collaborate with team members to address discrepancies and provide solutions for financial reporting issues. • Prepare journal entries and ensure proper documentation for auditing purposes. • Use Microsoft Excel to create detailed financial reports and analyses as needed. • Maintain accurate and organized records to support financial audits and reviews. Requirements • Proven experience as a Senior Accountant • Strong proficiency in bank reconciliations, general ledger management, and account reconciliation. • Familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP. • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create complex spreadsheets. • Knowledge of month-end close processes and financial reporting requirements. • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively. • Strong understanding of accounting principles and standards. • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
