Sr. Accountant
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis. In this role, you will provide essential support to the Accounting department, focusing on Accounts Payable, Treasury, and process improvements to ensure efficient operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial health of the organization while driving process enhancements. Responsibilities: • Manage the complete Accounts Payable cycle, including vendor setup, invoice verification, and payment processing. • Oversee month-end close activities related to AP, such as accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis. • Administer the employee reimbursement and corporate credit card programs, ensuring compliance with travel and expense policies. • Monitor daily cash flow and prepare detailed cash forecasts to support operational needs. • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in coordination with the general ledger team. • Maintain strong relationships with vendors and financial institutions to address payment and banking issues. • Identify and implement process improvements and automation initiatives across AP, T& E, and Treasury functions. • Ensure compliance with internal controls, tax regulations, and organizational policies. • Support annual audit requirements by preparing documentation related to Treasury and cash transactions. • Collaborate with IT and finance teams to evaluate and implement financial tools and systems. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred. • Strong knowledge of fund accounting, grant compliance, and non-profit financial reporting standards. • Proficiency in financial software such as Acumatica, Concur, and advanced Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables). • Experience with reconciliation tasks, including account, balance sheet, and bank reconciliations. • Familiarity with general ledger management, journal entries, and month-end close processes. • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and manage competing priorities effectively.
