Sr. Accountant
Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Lincoln, Rhode Island on a contract basis. This role requires a strong understanding of financial management practices, including corporate accounting, regulatory compliance, and reporting. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in supporting budgeting, forecasting, and accounting operations. Responsibilities: • Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and journal entries. • Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards. • Perform account, balance sheet, and bank reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records. • Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including reviewing reports and ensuring deadlines are met. • Research and resolve technical accounting issues to ensure compliance with applicable regulations. • Manage and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements. • Collaborate on budget and forecast preparation to align with organizational goals. • Utilize accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP to streamline operations and reporting. • Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial processes and reporting. • Maintain detailed documentation and records for audits and compliance. Requirements • Proven experience in corporate accounting and financial management. • Proficiency in account reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and bank reconciliations. • Strong knowledge of general ledger operations and journal entry preparation. • Expertise in month-end and year-end close processes. • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting. • Familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP. • Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach.
