The Senior Accountant is responsible for accounting, administration, and maintaining internal controls for the U.S./Canada F&II plants, supporting the Plant Finance Manager. This responsibility includes driving continued improvements in processes, accuracy and analytical support to the Plant Finance Managers and Plant Managers on spending control initiatives as well as overall plant performance. Overall responsibilities include accurate and timely reporting and analysis for all aspects of fixed assets and spending accounts, as well as calculation and administration of raw material and manufacturing rates, BOM maintenance, Yield reporting, monthly close preparation and required reporting along with forecasting and other ad hoc tasks. Focus is on accuracy, timeliness and ownership of tasks. This position will report to the Accounting Manager - F&II US/Can.
What you will do:
Plant expenditure analytics and accruals – Prepare and analyze monthly spend accrual entries in various account subgroups across multiple plants. Support operations and finance to understand and accurately assess costs.Monthly Variance Reporting – Prepare monthly analysis reports comparing actuals vs forecast for production, manufacturing expenses. Key drivers of variances communicated clearly and concisely to assist operations and finance in understanding of impacts.Forecasting/Budgeting – Work cross-functionally across plants to prepare monthly forecasts and periodic budgets (fixed and variable costs) timely and accurately.Yield Preparation – Prepare yield/accounting each month, analyzing data for reasonability. Work closely with operations team to improve calculation accuracy and timing of data.Inventory management – Assist in physical inventory counts/reconciliations as required.Supplies/Packaging Adjustment/Analysis and Reporting – Lead preparing, analyzing and adjusting supplies and packaging inventory/consumption to help operations and finance groups to understand and accurately assess usages. Includes BOM Maintenance.Resin Preparation – Prepare key entries for inventory/consumption, analysis and reporting for key supply used in sweetener manufacturing.Account Reconciliations – Prepare monthly account reconciliations assigned in a timely manner to ensure internal control policies are being followed.Process Improvement – Assist in process reviews periodically to standardize and enhance procedures across the COE (Center of Excellence) & plant operations (Purchasing, Receiving, production, shipping). Lead the implementation of improvements identified through this process.Develop Relationships – Build and maintain collaborative relationships with all units and functional managers across local and remote locations to ensure accurate and timely reporting of plant financial performance. Educate business partners in finance & accounting practices.Audit/SOX Controls – Assist and help guide Audit data requests as needed.What you will bring:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required, CPA preferred or equivalent experience2+ years relevant experienceConsistently perform tasks with accuracy and adherence to deadlinesBusiness Acumen – knows how business operates and effectively provides business context for financial information. $81,680.00-$108,906.67 AnnualThis pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Final base salary will be determined based on several factors which may include but are not limited to responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data and applicable bargaining agreement (if any).
Incentive Compensation:
As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Ingredion Annual Incentive Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus.
