Sr. Accountant
Description We are seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our team in Houston, Texas. In this role, you'll be crucial to our operations, handling a range of accounting tasks including processing banking transactions, producing accurate financial reports, and ensuring compliance with GAAP principles. This role is an integral part of our team, offering a unique chance to contribute to our business support services within the healthcare industry. Responsibilities: • Accurately process and reconcile banking and credit card transactions • Generate precise accounting reports and present their results • Analyze financial information and summarize the financial status of the company • Identify errors in financial documents and implement appropriate corrections • Offer technical support concerning accounting systems and banking portals • Gather all required documentation to validate transactions • Ensure all accounting practices are in compliance with GAAP principles • Execute complex accruals and substantial intercompany accounting • Conduct month-end close procedures, including journal entries and account reconciliation • Maintain balance sheet account reconciliation, bank reconciliations, and fixed asset inventory • Oversee invoice approvals and prepaid expense processing • Carry out fixed asset depreciation and full-cycle accounting. Requirements • Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role, preferably in a large organization. • Proficiency in Full Cycle Accounting is required. • Demonstrable experience in Journal Entries and Account Reconciliation. • Skilled in Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation and Bank Reconciliations. • Experience with Invoice Approvals and Prepaid Expense. • Familiarity with Fixed Asset Depreciation and Fixed Asset Inventory. • Proven experience in Month End Close and Accruals. • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify problems and propose solutions. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. • Ability to work independently and in a team. • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. • Demonstrable knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations. • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is a plus but not mandatory. • Experience with accounting software is preferred. • Must be legally authorized to work without sponsorship.
