Sr. Accountant
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the Manufacturing industry, based in NAPA, California. This role will involve an array of accounting tasks, including general ledger management, cost accounting, and financial reporting, among others. You will be part of a dynamic team and will report directly to the Controller. • Maintaining the general ledger and ensuring accurate financial reporting and documentation. • Providing guidance and support to other members of the Accounting team. • Tracking and reporting production costs, inventory valuation, and conducting cost analysis as part of winery cost accounting. • Preparing and posting journals as part of the period close cycles, including all intercompany activities. • Managing federal and state excise taxes as well as CA sales tax returns and serving as a contact for external compliance consultants. • Assisting with the annual budgeting process and conducting variance analysis and reporting. • Reconciling company bank accounts on a monthly basis and resolving any issues. • Managing fixed asset acquisitions and related depreciation expense through ERP. • Establishing best-in-class processes and procedures by partnering with internal teams and other organizations. • Documenting procedures and controls and performing other related accounting duties as assigned. Requirements • Possess a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role within the Manufacturing industry • Proficient in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations • Comprehensive knowledge and experience with General Ledger and Journal Entries • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel • Demonstrated experience in Month End Close activities • Familiarity with NetSuite accounting software • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is a plus • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work • Excellent organizational and time-management skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
