Sr. Accountant
Description We are seeking a Sr. Accountant to be based in Irvine, California. The role primarily revolves around overseeing the day-to-day general and administrative accounting operations within the Financial Services sector. Responsibilities: • Oversee the preparation of key financial records to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of journal entries for month-end close and other general and administrative aspects such as payroll-related entries and company-wide allocations • Conduct ongoing reconciliations between various financial systems, confirm postings, and proactively identify and resolve issues • Develop and maintain internal control policies to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial entries and reporting • Prepare management financial reporting packages and provide insights to management to support strategic decision-making through the analysis of key metrics and trends • Assist in the development of the annual budget and ongoing forecasts in collaboration with key stakeholders • Guarantee the accuracy, completeness, and preparation of financial statements and reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) • Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits, acting as a liaison to external auditors • Continuously identify areas for increased efficiency and process enhancements within the department and work closely with other departments to support overall business goals and objectives • Utilize accounting software, systems, and tools to optimize processes and drive efficient financial management. Requirements • Applicant must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of accounting. • Proficiency in account reconciliation is necessary. • Must be experienced in balance sheet reconciliation. • Familiarity with bank reconciliations is a key requirement. • Comprehensive knowledge and application of the general ledger is important. • Ability to prepare and maintain journal entries is mandatory. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required. • Must be proficient in month end close procedures. • Experience with NetSuite is an essential requirement. • Proficiency in Oracle is expected. • Familiarity with SAP is a crucial requirement.
