Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant based in Laurel, Maryland. As a Senior Accountant, you will be working in a dynamic team, ensuring accurate bookkeeping and financial analysis across our operations. You will be involved in general ledger management, overseeing accounts payable and receivable, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing analytical support for budgeting processes.
Responsibilities
• Oversee the general ledger, ensuring accurate recording of all transactions.
• Review, approve, and reconcile journal entries.
• Monitor accounts payable and receivable, ensuring efficient processing and collection.
• Collaborate with the accounts team to resolve discrepancies and improve collection processes.
• Develop and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations as well as industry standards.
• Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Prepare reports and presentations for management regarding financial trends and performance.
• Work closely with the Controller and accounting team to ensure optimal financial operations.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Analyze financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts.
• Provide analytical support to departmental managers in budgeting processes.
• Assist in preparing reports for auditors and provide necessary documentation and support during audits.
Requirements
• Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
• Must have excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Should have strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
