Description
Shantel Poole with Robert Half is in search of a dedicated Sr. Accountant to join her client's team in the construction and contracting industry. This role involves a wide scope of accounting functions, from processing transactions to maintaining financial records and performing financial analysis.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct monthly closing procedures, such as reconciling accounts and producing financial reports
• Manage bank reconciliations and monitor account receivables
• Prepare and document year-end closing files for CPA review
• Conduct ad hoc financial data analysis using tools like Power BI
• Maintain electronic financial records and workpapers in an organized manner
• Contribute to budgeting processes
• Handle accounting tasks for in-house loans payable and receivable, including interest computation and summary schedules
• Assist with quarterly and annual third-party loan compliance
• Uphold awareness of internal controls and adapt to more efficient procedures
• Undertake other accounting and administrative projects as needed.

Requirements • Proven experience as a Senior Accountant in the construction or contractor industry.
• Proficient in accounting software, with a strong emphasis on Power BI.
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of General Ledger operations.
• Familiarity with bank reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, laws, and regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to liaise with various departments.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical problem-solving skills.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required, Master’s degree a plus.
