Sr. Accountant
Description Are you an experienced and results-driven accounting professional with a passion for the real estate industry? We are seeking a Senior Property Accountant in Louisville, KY! This role is ideal for a dedicated and detail-oriented individual with 5+ years of experience in property or real estate accounting, a strong educational background in accounting, and a CPA certification. Key Responsibilities: + Manage and maintain property-level financial records, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes. + Prepare and analyze property financial statements in accordance with GAAP. + Ensure compliance with property management agreements, including account setup and fee reconciliations. + Collaborate with property managers, operations teams, and external stakeholders to ensure the accuracy of financial data. + Perform variance analysis and provide insight into operational and financial trends. + Support annual budgeting and re-forecasting processes for assigned properties. + Assist with property audits and respond to inquiries from auditors. + Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations for property-related activities. Requirements Qualifications: + Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting (required). + Certification: CPA (required). + Experience: Minimum of 6 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 4 years in property or real estate accounting. + Proficiency in ERP software (experience with real estate-specific platforms is ideal). + Advanced knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail. + Excellent communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Preferred Skills (Not Required): + Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and complex formulas. + Experience with property management software like Yardi, MRI, or similar platforms. + Exposure to compliance reporting and tax regulations for real estate entities.
