Sr. Accountant
Description We are in the manufacturing industry, based in IRWIN, Pennsylvania, and are in search of a Sr. Accountant to contribute to our team. The role involves handling customer applications, maintaining customer records, and resolving customer inquiries with precision. Also, it includes monitoring customer accounts and taking necessary actions based on the account status. Responsibilities: • Effectively process customer credit applications • Keep customer credit records accurate and updated • Collaborate with AP, AR, Sales, Manufacturing, and other departments on operational reporting and other projects as needed • Assist in the preparation of journal entries and completion of the month-end close process • Conduct inventory accounting including reporting, reconciliation, and cycle count administration • Carry out cost accounting, and reporting/analysis on direct labor, purchase price variances, and work orders • Prepare and review Sales/Use tax returns • Handle fixed asset/Lease accounting and depreciation/amortization • Perform intercompany accounting and accruals • Prepare and maintain Internal Control documentation process • Assist in internal control audits and external audits • Utilize Avante ERP System and Cognos Financial Reporting System • Examine and analyze financial data reports and spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel • Work on special projects as required. Requirements • Proven experience in the manufacturing industry • Proficiency in account reconciliation • Strong skills in balance sheet reconciliation • Demonstrated ability in performing bank reconciliations • Solid understanding of the general ledger • Experience in preparing and posting journal entries • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel • Prior experience in handling month-end close procedures • Proficiency in using NetSuite • Familiarity with Oracle • Experience in working with SAP • Hold a relevant qualification in accounting or finance • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • High attention to detail and accuracy • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
