Description We are seeking a Sr. Accountant for a great client of ours located in Olathe, Kansas, United States. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks, including preparing journal entries, generating financial statements, and maintaining accurate financial records. Please apply today or call Molly Gardner at 816-601-1196 Responsibilities: • Prepare and record accurate journal entries in accordance with GAAP • Generate and distribute timely financial statements • Reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis and resolve any variances promptly • Analyze financial statement variances and trends, review ledger activity, and provide detailed variance explanations to management • Contribute to the preparation of financial audit work papers • Prepare grant invoices and reports • Participate in the review and implementation of new accounting policies and procedures to improve controls and efficiencies • Maintain and update written accounting procedures, and draft new procedures as required • Perform other accounting duties as assigned. Requirements • Applicant must hold a minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role as a Senior Accountant. • Proficiency in performing accruals is a mandatory requirement for this position. • The candidate should be adept at executing month end close processes. • Experience in preparing and posting journal entries is expected. • The ability to prepare financial statements is essential for this role.
