Sr. Accountant
Description We are in search of a proficient Sr. Accountant to join our team in the High Tech - Pharm/Biotech industry located in Westlake, Texas. You will primarily be tasked with the preparation and review of accounting transactions, ensuring compliance with applicable Accounting Framework and internal policies, and contributing significantly to our financial close process. Responsibilities: • Ensure timely and accurate provision of financial information to management • Conduct research and analysis on assigned cost centers and accounts for accurate reporting • Prepare and review journal entries with accompanying supporting documents • Oversee check and ACH support on payment runs • Contribute to monthly, semiannual, and year-end reporting packages • Aid in the preparation of mid-year and year-end financial statements analytics • Drive process documentation and process improvements initiatives • Act as a backup for the team when necessary • Oversee the preparation of reconciliations of various Balance Sheet accounts • Handle the preparation of intercompany reconciliations • Assist in the R& D and Cap Ex budget process • Process Concur expense reports and record Concur T& E expenses in the general ledger Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required. • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the High Tech - Pharm/Biotech industry. • Proficient in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations. • Solid understanding of general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process. • Experience in preparing and posting journal entries. • Proficient in using financial software applications, such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP. • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including knowledge of pivot tables, vlookup, and other advanced functions. • Strong analytical skills to analyze financial data and create financial reports or statements. • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in performing all tasks. • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple deadlines. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • A proactive problem-solver, able to identify issues and implement solutions. • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification would be advantageous.
